Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, invading the secret base, attacking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the powerful family could enable the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Strategists groups.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which characters will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
